How we met:
Matt and I have known each other since college at 16 but only through friends.
Through the years we had spoken a little bit and always planned to meet up but it just never happened. Then finally after moving back to Wrexham Matt asked me on a date.
And the rest is history.
The amazing proposal:
Matt told me we were going for a day out to a beach, Porth Ceiriad, that we both liked as we’d been camping there previously. We packed our stuff and off we went a quite normal thing for us to do so I didn’t have a clue.
I had always said I wanted our engagement documented in some way because I have the worse memory ever so Matt had his work cut out as he always wanted to do it in the middle of nowhere.
Off we went walking down the beach, in the rain with the brolly taking pictures as we went.
When we got to the far side of the beach Matt pulled out a selfie stick (the last thing I’d ever imagine him buying) and said about having a photo on a timer. He told me to stand in position ready and stuck the selfie stick in the sand. Matt then then ran over to me to ‘pose’ for the picture, so there I was smiling away and the next thing Matt was down on one knee asking me to marry him.
Out of shock I burst out crying and said ‘yes, now put it on!”
After all the emotions Matt told me he was actually recording the whole thing. We then sat on the beach and had a picnic and champagne to celebrate.
