We are revisiting a few more of last years summer weddings before 2014 gets really crazy after Easter, starting with Alexandra and Tom’s fabulous North Wales marquee wedding in Porthmadog. They came up from London to get married in Pwllheli the day before the celebration as they were having a humanist ceremony at Alexandra’s family home. They had pitched two large marquees outside the guest house on the farm, which is a fabulous holiday let if you are interested – Bron y Foel. They had sent us a beautifully crafted wedding map a few weeks before the wedding, so we already knew that this was going to be a well planned DIY crafters paradise and they certainly didn’t disappoint with one of the most homely welcomes and personal weddings we have seen.
There was everything you’d expect from a farm based marquee wedding, from bales of hay with picnic blankets, bunting and huge bunches of local flowers to the unexpected tractor ride after the ceremony for the bride and groom, dogs everywhere and positively the most eclectic mix of people you have ever seen. Ironically for a humanist wedding they also had biblical levels of rain, certainly not enough to dampen anyone’s spirits though and proof that August guarantees nothing when it comes to getting married in the UK!
Here’s a sample of some of the photographs from their day.
I’ve said it before, but we do love marquee weddings and so if you are looking for a photographer for your marquee wedding, please do get in touch!
