We met Mark and Helen at the Ogwen Valley in Snowdonia and took a walk up to Llyn Idwal. It is a beautiful spot and not a difficult walk to the lake (lucky with a couple of bags of camera gear!). Find it here – Cwm Idwal Walk. Helen had already mentioned she was bringing tea and snacks and you know you’re instantly going to get on when they mention a cuppa! Mark and Helen are both gorgeous and love walking and being outdoors. They were a little nervous and both said they didn’t like having their photo taken! Nearly everyone says that and sure enough later on into the engagement shoot Mark admitted ‘I didn’t expect to but I’m really enjoying it!’
We started the photo shoot off with some basic posing tips and then went straight into it, they were naturals as I expected. We carried on up to the lake and the views were just amazing. It was nice and quiet up there which was lovely and apparently quite unusual on a clear day.
Here comes the engagement story!
Mark proposed to Helen in March last year and was determined to make it to the top of Mount Snowdon to do it. They had Helens father’s dog with them for the journey who was none too pleased with the snow and ice they were facing in the walk. Even Helen was protesting when they were three quarters of the way up and couldn’t understand why Mark was insisting they went to the top.
They pressed on but the cold and the ice was too much and Mark had to settle for a spot as close to the top as they could manage. After the excitement they decided to go for a just engaged selfie and their excited faces are apparently not mirrored in the dogs face who looks none too pleased to be freezing his paws off up Snowdonia! I’ll have to try and get this picture so I can post it on here to complete the story.
So, here’s what you came for – the engagement shoot! Enjoy 🙂
The full shoot will be available in the Client Gallery in the next couple of weeks, so check back soon! If you’d like an engagement shoot, especially if it is in a stunning location like this one, then Get in Touch and let us know.
